FAQs

  • Ensure that the floor is clean and level, and apply a bead of caulk or sealant to the base of the tub. After standing the bathtub in the desired position, run a second bead of caulk around the tub, sealing the base to the floor. Alternatively, use a Sure Lock base for secure installation of your freestanding tub.

  • Yes! Your only limit with concrete is where your faucet hookup is located. As it can be difficult and expensive to move these fixtures in concrete, you may be limited if it is too close to a wall for a freestanding tub.

  • Both the freestanding and the deck mount faucets will install to the same hookup on your bathroom floor. The location of the fixture will guide which styles make sense as options. That said, deck mount faucets are usually much more affordable than freestanding faucets. We recommend having a ledge framed out as a shelf for soaps and shampoos – then mounting your faucet there, but it all comes back to your individual sense of style for your bathroom.

  • Make sure that you have at least 6 inches of space around the tub in all directions. This will prevent it from looking cramped and allow you to access all spaces for cleaning.

  • Absolutely not. There will always be a certain air of elegance that comes with freestanding tubs. For many styles of bathroom, a freestanding tub will be a must – for generations to come. That said, built in tubs can save space and may work better for many situations. We don’t think it’s about coming into or out of style – we think it’s about finding what’s right for you.
